MGS3:Delta & Beyond

After the success of the MGS3 remake, people are wondering what is next? There was a survey sent out asking which title should be remade next. We have some ideas of what can be done.
We’ve seen a bit of criticism for the MGS3 remake and don’t understand. Some are saying they should’ve added to the game. When Konami took creative liberties with another remake, it wasn’t good. They tried chasing trends of indie walking simulators, and made unneeded changes to the map, writing, puzzles, and character design that were worse than the original.
Others are saying it’s not faithful enough, when it’s one of the most faithful and these come off as nitpicks. I understand if you want the graphics more like the original, but they’re not saying that. I saw one person saying that the new controls made the game too easy. It’s easier, but what made MGS3 easy was when they added the 3rd person camera in Subsistence and they didn’t change the game. One of the criticisms of the Twin Snakes was that first person made it easier.
So what’s next? It’s rumored it might be MGS1. Some rumors are saying they may be changing the games structure and making it non linear. Hideo Kojima said if he was to remake MGS1, he’d make it open world. I don’t get why you would want to do this. MGS1 was fine the way it is, making it non linear or open world just seems like a random change. After with how faithful the 3 remake was, why are you changing it? Doing the boss fights in any order or going to different parts of the base first, just seems unneeded. The story and map may have to be changed to do this.
A while ago I responded to a Youtuber calling for change. He said since MGS3 was longer than 1, they’re going to need to change the game to make it worth the price. Ive never seen someone ask for filler to be applied to a remake before. You could add some parts to the story, but thats it. Maybe after we learn the DARPA chief is Decoy Octopus, we see a video of how he disguises himself.

For an MGS1 remake theres another issue. Which one do you do? Theres the original and the Twin Snakes, which was a remake of the original. Both of which were fine with different cutscenes. The Twin Snakes took cues from the Matrix with slow motion, rerecorded voices, missing lines and a more actiony tone. It wasn’t bad it was different and I didn’t have an issue with it.
An idea could be to remake both of them in one game. For Twin Snakes you add commentary from Otacon, as if hes telling his version of what happened. In the MGS community, this is how some people see the game, or as a simulation Jack is doing.
We feel the next game that should be remade is MGS2. We’ve always wanted to play it, but didn’t like the controls. The story was very unique and relatable then and now. There hasn’t been talk on changes on this one, like the first.
If the devs want to go in chronological order, there are other ideas they can look at. You could port Piece Walker to the Fox or Unreal engine. Remake Portable Ops with Peace Walkers/ MGS3 Deltas enhancements, and make it all canon. Another idea is finishing off MGSV with the cut content, or finish the original Rising. I don’t think any of these will happen since Konami looks to just want to do remakes. I don’t think a MGS without Kojima would good and things would get messed up.
I don’t think any new games will happen, just remakes. Where would go with an MGS6? Would it be a be prequel or sequel? We saw what happened with Rising, what happens when Kojima isn’t on the project. A new game would need to have some MGS veterans or fans for it to work.
