When Starfielders Crashed on Planet Thrash
Starfield has come and go. It went from being hyped as the game of the gen to meh. One of the games pre-release controversies still persists.
King Thrash got early footage and a copy of the game. He posted a picture of him looking up at a planet from another and said you can’t go to the planet in the distance. The tweet read “ You cannot go to these planets because exploration was a lie. Jesus it gets worse”. Someone in the comments said it was a gas giant and asked why would you want to go there. He replied saying he’d like to explore it. Somehow this got equated to him wanting to land on it.
People started assuming what Starfield was as a game. Lets say he said he wanted to land on gas giants. How do you know that Starfield doesn’t allow you to land on them? Why are you assuming the game is like real life? The people criticizing didn’t even have the game.
The Xbox and PC twitter communities have a special dislike for King Thrash already. When this came up, you had many jumping in to roast. He’s actually more of an Xbox fan and player than his critics. He even shows profiles of people who claim to game and proves they don’t.
An online gaming outlet made an article about it. The article said Thrash made some type of blunder in thinking you could land on a gas giant. Twitter ran with this and it became the new joke. If you commented on anything he said about Starfield, someone would say something like “at least I’m not trying to land on gas giants”. Dude that’s not a burn, it’s a deflection. For a bit people forgot about the Starfield game and people went to discuss gas giants. These guys held him more accountable than they do Phil Spencer.
The whole gas giant thing should’ve been dead, when people found there was a mission in Starfield exploring a gas giant. I believe another ship gets caught in a planets gravity, being pulled into its depth and you need to upgrade your ships armor to save it. Somehow these guys keep talking about it, more than they talk about Starfield. That news story was never corrected or rescinded. Doesn’t that make it slander?
I know Thrash is one of the loudest dudes in the space. If you want to criticize him, fine, just do it right. . If you have an agenda, you want clout, need content or here for the money it’s ok to admit it. Actual gamers would respect you more and you wouldn’t be getting cooked for flat-out lying and running interference.
